Phoenix, AZ – Two Children Killed, One Woman Injured When Street Sweeper Falls onto I-10 from Loop 101

Phoenix, AZ (June 24, 2022) – Two children were killed and a female driver is listed in critical condition in Phoenix after a street sweeper went off of a ramp and fell onto the interstate below.

Responders were sent to the scene located on Interstate 10 near Loop 101. Initial reports show that the fatal accident happened on the southbound Loop 101 ramp.

The reason the street sweeper plunged off of the bridge and fell onto the roadway below remains under police investigation at this time. Witnesses say they saw the truck fall from the ramp.

When emergency crews arrived at the crash scene, they found a 40-something woman trapped in her truck with a child. The woman told police that there was also a third person in the truck before the crash, however, they were not inside the vehicle at the crash scene.

A few moments later, a child was found deceased on the ramp above the collision site. The female driver is currently listed in critical condition.

The child who was found inside the vehicle at the crash scene was transported to the hospital where they later died. Police believe speed may have played a factor in the wreck.

Westbound traffic on Interstate 10 was blocked for some time while crews investigated at the scene. The ramp was also closed for some time.

Police continue to investigate the details of the collision.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family or families of the deceased victims. We hope for the full recovery of the injured victim.

Car crashes in the Grand Canyon State are often caused by driver intoxication and wrong-way drivers. These are two dangerous types of negligent driving, which is the most common contributing factor to auto collisions throughout the United States.

More than 90% of car crashes in Arizona are the result of negligent driving, according to information provided by the Arizona Department of Transportation. This includes distracted driving, speeding, intoxication, and fatigue.

Drivers who act negligently injure and take the lives of thousands of people every single year. Despite the safety regulations and rules implemented to preserve the safety of drivers, they continue to act negligently while behind the wheel.

Chandler, MS – Imari Pritchett Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Loop 202 Santan Fwy near Price Rd

Chandler, AZ (June 22, 22022) – As previously reported, a fatal pedestrian accident took the life of a woman in Chandler on June 20. Imari Pritchett was identified as the 23-year-old victim of that fatal traffic that occurred on Monday morning. The deadly hit-and-run accident took place in the eastbound lanes of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway near Price Road.

Preliminary reports show that the accident happened a short time after Pritchett crashed her vehicle. She exited her car to try and cross the roadway when she was hit.

The driver who struck her was identified as a 36-year-old Chandler man who was driving a 2015 Subaru Outback. He struck her in the HOV lane, according to reports. She succumbed to her injuries at the crash scene.

The man stopped and called 911, however, he did not remain at the scene. Police found his house using his phone number and apprehended him there. He faces leaving the scene of a fatal crash and DUI charges.

The eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed near McClintock Drive for several hours. Nothing further has been reported at this time.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Imari Pritchett.

Pedestrian Wrecks in Chandler

Approximately 4,500 people are injured in Arizona auto collisions per month or about 150 per day. More than 8,000 auto accidents are reported each month in Arizona or approximately 98,000 every year. This is equal to around  268 wrecks that happen each day. Usually, people injured in these collisions have to spend days, weeks, or even months in the hospital recovering. While stuck there, they may have to undergo invasive surgeries and other medical procedures that can be exhausting and expensive.

When a driver’s negligent actions cause other people to become injured, those injured victims have the legal right to file a personal injury claim. A claim can help you get the financial compensation that can pay for the costs related to your accident. A personal injury attorney in Chandler can help you file a claim.

Unfortunately, hit-and-runs are common in the Grand Canyon State and throughout the United States. More than 15,000 hit-and-run wrecks happen in Arizona every year. A hit-and-run wreck can be more dangerous than another type of accident. This is because if someone sustains serious injuries without another person there to call for help, the injured victim could be at a greater risk for lifelong consequences or even death. If you or a loved one of yours has been injured in a hit-and-run, a car accident attorney can help you recover.

At the Law Offices of Samuel P. Moeller, PLLC, we can help you get the money you need to pay for vehicle repairs, lost wages, medical care, and more. We will build a strong case for you so you can financially recover and get your life back on track. We will speak with investigators and witnesses, gather evidence, negotiate a settlement with the insurance company, and more.

Our team has decades of experience helping people like you make full recoveries after they suffer injuries because of another person’s negligent actions. Our lawyers can be reached at 602-903-2905. Contact our law firm to get started on your path to financial recovery.
