Arizona Car Accidents

When you get behind the wheel of a vehicle to drive, unfortunately, there is a constant risk of becoming involved in a collision. On average, about 6 million car crashes are reported in the United States yearly that injure around 3 million people. Alarmingly, the majority of these collisions are caused by driver negligence. Some different forms of driver negligence include:

  • Driver distraction
  • Drowsy driving
  • Intoxication
  • Speeding

In the state of Arizona, an average of 125,000 car crashes occur per year. These wrecks injure over 55,000 people every year and take the lives of over 1,000 people annually. Currently, the leading cause of car crashes in Arizona is speeding. Throughout the United States, approximately 31% of fatalities related to car crashes are the result of speeding. This means that over 11,000 people lose their lives per year due to drivers who choose to travel at unsafe speeds.

The fatality rate related to auto collisions in the United States is approximately twice the average fatality rate in other developed countries.  Approximately two million people sustain permanent injuries per year due to car wrecks in the US, and around 4.4 million are injured so badly that they have to spend time in the hospital recovering. The economic and societal impact of auto collisions in the United States sits at around 8 billion dollars per year. What is most alarming is that over 90% of these collisions are caused by driver negligence.

The top ten causes of car accidents in the United States are currently:

  • Distracted driving: it is easy to feel like looking at your phone while you’re driving is harmless, however, this is not true. Over 1,000 people get hurt in distracted-driving-related collisions every day in the US.
  • Running red lights: Driving through a red light is extremely hazardous in that more often than not, it will cause a collision that ends in injuries.
  • Speeding: it is easy to feel rushed when you are driving, especially if you are running late. However, driving at unsafe speeds yields severe consequences for everyone involved. Speeding has contributed to approximately 25% of car wrecks in the United States each year since 2009.
  • Reckless driving: Reckless motorists are dangerous and unpredictable. Failing to use a turn signal, cutting someone off, tailgating, disobeying traffic signals, and more are all examples of reckless driving that can easily cause a collision.

If you have been injured by a negligent driver, you should call an attorney to learn more about your legal right toward financial compensation. A car crash lawyer in Suprise can help you file a personal injury claim so you’re able to cover the costs related to your collision.

A car accident resulting in a visit to the emergency room can cost approximately $4,000. The cost of hospitalization for serious car accident injuries can reach more than $50,000. Arizona Car Wrecks

There are more car wrecks in Arizona than in most other states in the nation. Each year, more than 125,000 auto wrecks happen in the United States. This is equivalent to approximately 340 accidents per day.

More than 150 people suffer injuries in these collisions each day. Those who sustain injuries in accidents often require extensive medical care that can be stressful and invasive. Oftentimes, those injured in car wrecks have to spend days or weeks recovering in the hospital. It can be extremely difficult to endure an experience like this, which is why lawyers work hard to help those injured in car crashes to recover.

If a car crash negatively impacted your life, contacting an auto accident attorney could be a smart move. Especially if you believe another person caused your injuries. Driver distraction, intoxication, and fatigue can lead to severe injuries and sometimes even fatalities for drivers and passengers.

Even if you think you may be partially at fault for your wreck, you may still be eligible for compensation. For example, if you were found to be 30% at fault for the accident, you would still be able to collect 70% of the compensation available to you.
