Phoenix, AZ – Major Auto Collision on I-10 near 83rd Ave

Phoenix, AZ (August 29, 2022) – On the evening of August 29, a car wreck happened in Phoenix that caused injuries. Shortly after 7:00 p.m., the incident was reported to officials in the area who promptly responded to the scene. 

According to information from reports, the collision occurred on Interstate 10 near 83rd Avenue. An unknown number of vehicles collided and caused at least one person to become injured. 

Emergency crews rendered aid to injured parties and transported those in need of further care to local hospitals for treatment. The names of the involved parties have not been released at this time. 

Multiple lanes of the roadway were blocked while first responders worked in the area. Police asked local drivers to use alternate routes of travel while the scene was active.

Phoenix, AZ – Two Men Injured After Car Crashes into Restaurant on 32nd St near McDowell Rd

Phoenix, AZ (August 26, 2022) – Two men were sent to the hospital after they were injured by a vehicle that crashed into the restaurant they were dining at in Phoenix. According to information from reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, August 24. 

Sources report that the vehicle collided with Sushi Sonora on 32nd Street just south of McDowell Road. Due to the severity of the damage, machinery was used by the Phoenix Fire Department to extricate the driver from the vehicle. 

The driver was transported to a nearby medical center in stable condition. The two men who were struck by the vehicle were treated on-site by paramedics. One of them was transported to an area hospital for further care. 

At this time, no one involved has been identified. Authorities in Phoenix continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.

Mesa, AZ – Maurico Jimenez-Ruelas Sustains Serious Injuries in Collision on SR-17

Mesa, AZ (August 27, 2022) – A traffic accident left one person with injuries on Wednesday, August 24 in Mesa. Reports indicate that a hay truck and a box truck collided for reasons still under police investigation. 

Information provided by officials states that the incident happened on State Route 17. A box truck was headed south when he collided with the hay truck head-on. 

A passenger present in the box truck, identified as 24-year-old Mauricio Jimenez-Ruelas, sustained significant injuries in the collision. Police continue to investigate the reason the accident took place. 

The driver of the hay truck was identified as Katie Van-Komen from Ellensburg, age 38. She sustained minor injuries in the wreck.

Glendale, AZ – Head-On Auto Crash Takes Lives of Woman and Unborn Child on Northern Ave near 67th Ave

Glendale, AZ (August 25, 2022) – A woman and her unborn child lost their lives after a head-on crash in Glendale. Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on August 14, police in Glendale responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash. 

The incident occurred at the intersection of Northern Avenue and 67th Avenue. The involved vehicles were identified as a sedan and a pick-up truck. Detectives determined that the truck was headed east on Northern Ave when it attempted to turn left onto northbound 67th Avenue. 

The sedan was headed west on Northern Avenue when it collided with the truck at the intersection. Five people were present in the sedan at the time of the crash. Bridgette Lee Armijo, 34, was present in the sedan at the time. She was pregnant and sustained serious injuries.

Armijo was in the front passenger seat of the sedan at the time of the wreck. She was taken from the scene to a local hospital where, sadly, she and her unborn baby later lost their lives. The pickup truck was occupied by two adults in the front and a child in the back. 

The two adults were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The child sustained no injuries in the accident. Police in Glendale continue to investigate the details of the incident. Speed and driver impairment are believed to have played roles in the crash.

Phoenix, AZ – Major Car Wreck on 32nd St near McDowell Rd

Phoenix, AZ (August 24, 2022) – At least two individuals suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred in Central Phoenix. At approximately 5:00 p.m on Wednesday, August 25, responders were sent to the scene of the accident to render aid to the involved parties. 

According to reports concerning the accident, it occurred on 32nd Street near McDowell Road. One individual was trapped inside a sedan that was flipped onto its roof. They required extrication by fire crews, Phoenix Fire said. 

Police reported that the sedan had been involved in a hit-and-run collision at 40th Street and McDowell Road. The at-fault driver reportedly fled the intersection after running a red light at 32nd Street. The vehicle that caused the crash also struck other vehicles at the scene, including a city bus. 

A 30-year-old man was transported from the scene to a local medical center with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Phoenix Fire officials report that a pregnant woman was also transported in stable condition. 

Four others were evaluated at the crash scene for minor injuries. They did not require transportation to the hospital. 

Police continue to investigate the details of the incident.
