Millions of car crashes happen in the United States per year. On average, there are more than 6 million vehicle wrecks reported here that cause injuries to over 3 million people. Sadly, close to 40,000 individuals lose their lives per year in car accidents in the United States. In the state of Arizona, there are roughly 160,000 car wrecks per year that injure more than 50,000 people and take the lives of over 1,000.

It can be stressful and overwhelming to suffer serious injuries in a car wreck. It can also be painful and scary, especially if your injuries require you to stay in the hospital for a prolonged period of time. Being unable to work due to severe injuries can be stressful, and the gravity of the situation may be taking a toll on you mentally and physically.

You may be wondering how the accident happened. This is one of the most important questions related to your case. Depending on who/what led to your wreck, you may qualify for financial compensation that can pay for wage loss, vehicle repairs, medical care costs, and more. The majority of the auto wrecks reported in the United States are the result of driver negligence. A Phoenix personal injury attorney can help you learn about your legal right toward financial compensation in the circumstance that a negligent driver caused you or someone you love to become injured. Even if you were partially responsible for the cause of the accident, you may still be eligible to collect compensation to help pay for the damages you face.

For instance, if a court finds you to be 25% responsible for your accident, you may be eligible to collect 75% of the compensation available for your injuries and losses. An attorney from the law offices of Samuel P. Moeller, PLLC, will be able to help you figure out everything you need to know about personal injury law so you can get the compensation necessary to help you recover.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved in this auto accident in Phoenix.

Arizona Car Crashes

Imminent risk is involved in the decision to operate a vehicle. Unfortunately, car crashes are among the top ten causes of serious injuries and death in the United States. On average, roughly three million people are hurt per year in auto collisions in the United States. Approximately 6 million total accidents are reported yearly that take the lives of close to 40,000 people. In Arizona, more than 1,000 people lose their lives per year due to auto wrecks.

The fatality rate for auto collisions in America is approximately 12.4 fatalities per 100,000 individuals. This is about twice the average rate for other developed countries. Of these accidents, approximately two million people sustain permanent injuries per year in car accidents in the United States. About 4.4 million are injured so severely that they require hospital visits. The economic and societal impact of these collisions is approximately 8 billion dollars per year.

An alarming fact concerning all of these accidents is that more than 95% of them are the result of negligent drivers. Currently, the top causes of auto collisions in the United States are:

  • Distracted driving
  • Red light runners
  • Speeding
  • Reckless driving
  • Fatigued driving
  • Intoxicated driving

If you have been hurt by a negligent driver, you deserve financial compensation for the damages you face in the aftermath of your accident. An auto accident attorney in Phoenix will help you file a car accident claim for compensation so you can cover the costs associated with your collision. According to information provided by the CDC, a car wreck resulting in an emergency room visit usually costs approximately $4,000. If hospitalization is required, more than $56,000 is needed to pay for a full recovery.
