Glendale, AZ (August 25, 2022) – A woman and her unborn child lost their lives after a head-on crash in Glendale. Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on August 14, police in Glendale responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Northern Avenue and 67th Avenue. The involved vehicles were identified as a sedan and a pick-up truck. Detectives determined that the truck was headed east on Northern Ave when it attempted to turn left onto northbound 67th Avenue.
The sedan was headed west on Northern Avenue when it collided with the truck at the intersection. Five people were present in the sedan at the time of the crash. Bridgette Lee Armijo, 34, was present in the sedan at the time. She was pregnant and sustained serious injuries.
Armijo was in the front passenger seat of the sedan at the time of the wreck. She was taken from the scene to a local hospital where, sadly, she and her unborn baby later lost their lives. The pickup truck was occupied by two adults in the front and a child in the back.
The two adults were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The child sustained no injuries in the accident. Police in Glendale continue to investigate the details of the incident. Speed and driver impairment are believed to have played roles in the crash.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victims at this time. We hope for the full recovery of those with injuries.
