Queen Creek, AZ (September 12, 2022) – A car accident happened in Queen Creek on the morning of Saturday, September 10. Shortly after 4:00 a.m., responders were dispatched to the scene to assist the involved parties.
One vehicle was involved in the collision that took the life of one teenager and injured three other people. It happened at the intersection of Rittenhouse Road and Riggs Road. Police reported the driver miscalculated a curve and crossed into oncoming traffic lanes before striking a brick wall lined with electrical equipment.
Information provided by the Sheriff’s Office states that the electrical equipment caught fire due to the collision. The fire spread to the vehicle.
Police reported that the driver was charged with aggravated assault and manslaughter. They were booked into a Maricopa County jail. Their name has not been released at this time.
