Arizona Car Crashes
When you get in a vehicle to travel, unfortunately, there is always a risk of becoming involved in a crash. Despite how safe you are while behind the wheel, you, unfortunately, cannot predict the behavior of other drivers. Each year, more than 6 million auto accidents occur in the United States that injure millions of people and take the lives of tens of thousands. In fact, the majority of these accidents are the result of driver negligence. Currently, the most common types of driver negligence include intoxication, drowsiness, distraction, and speeding.
Over 125,000 auto collisions are reported in Arizona per year. These wrecks generally injure around 60,000 people annually and take the lives of around 1,000 people each year. Currently, the leading cause of car wrecks in the Grand Canyon state is speeding. Throughout the US, approximately 31% of fatal car wrecks are caused by speeding. This is equivalent to approximately 11,000 people losing their lives per year due to drivers who choose to operate their vehicles at unsafe speeds.
The fatality rate related to auto accidents in the United States is approximately double the average fatality rate of other developed nations. Around two million individuals will be permanently disabled due to being seriously injured in car wrecks in the United States each year. Approximately 4.4 million people suffer injuries so severe that they end up in the hospital. Car crashes cost the United States about 8 billion dollars every year. The alarming fact is that over 90% of these accidents happen due to the negligent acts of drivers.
