Mesa, AZ (August 27, 2022) – A traffic accident left one person with injuries on Wednesday, August 24 in Mesa. Reports indicate that a hay truck and a box truck collided for reasons still under police investigation.
Information provided by officials states that the incident happened on State Route 17. A box truck was headed south when he collided with the hay truck head-on.
A passenger present in the box truck, identified as 24-year-old Mauricio Jimenez-Ruelas, sustained significant injuries in the collision. Police continue to investigate the reason the accident took place.
The driver of the hay truck was identified as Katie Van-Komen from Ellensburg, age 38. She sustained minor injuries in the wreck.
