Peoria, AZ (November 21, 2022) – An auto accident occurred in a residential area of Peoria on November 20. At around 9:00 p.m., the incident occurred, causing several people to become injured, and three to lose their lives.
Reports show that the crash involved a Jeep SUV and a Mazda van near 107th Avenue and Lone Cactus Drive. The Jeep was headed south on 107th Avenue while the Mazda was traveling east on Lone Cactus Drive. The Mazda attempted a left-hand turn onto northbound 107th Avenue when the two were involved in a crash.
Police in Peoria state that the driver and front passenger in the Mazda lost their lives in the accident. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Elizabeth Simpson. The passenger was identified as 31-year-old Jace Hochstetler, of Phoenix.
Four children were also present in the Mazda at the time. All were treated at the scene and transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. Sadly, a female, age 14, later lost her life at the hospital.
The three other kids remain at the hospital, two with life-threatening injuries and one with minor injuries. The Jeep’s driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Authorities continue to investigate the details of the accident. Negligence is believed to have played a factor in the cause of the crash.
