Peoria, AZ (November 30, 2022) – As previously reported, a fatal car accident took the lives of two parents and their 14-year-old daughter on November 20. Three other children were also involved and injured in the collision. Their teenage daughter was put on life support at the hospital due to the severity of the injuries she sustained in the accident but later lost her life.
At around 9:00 p.m., the incident was reported to officials in Peoria, who promptly responded to the scene. Reports indicate that a Mazda van, driven by Elizabeth Simpson of Glendale, age 36, accompanied by her fiance, Jace Hochstetler of Phoenix, age 31, and their four children, was headed south on 107th Avenue when it collided with another van that was turning left off of Lone Cactus Drive, south of Deer Valley Road.
Simpson and Hochstetler died at the scene, while the four children were transported to a local hospital. Simpson’s daughter, Harley, later succumbed to her injuries. Two other children at the hospital, including a baby and a 10-year-old boy, are still being treated for injuries, though the baby is said to be OK.
A second child has succumbed to her injuries, according to reports provided by friends of the family. Authorities are working to determine whether the driver of the second vehicle was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victims at this time.
