Phoenix, AZ (November 29, 2022) – A collision occurred in Phoenix on Friday afternoon, November 25, involving a Phoenix police vehicle and multiple other cars. Reports show the accident took place on 51st Avenue near Thomas Road.
Initial information states that a police car was struck by two other cars. The crash happened just south of the Thomas Road and 51st Avenue intersection.
One of the involved drivers was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver, identified as a juvenile, remained at the scene.
Both officers present in the police car were treated for injuries at a local hospital. The police car sustained mostly front-end damage, sources said.
Police in Phoenix said that 51st Avenue would be closed from Thomas Road to Virginia Avenue while police investigated the circumstances of the accident.
