Arizona Car Wrecks
Car crashes in Arizona happen frequently. These accidents take place due to driver error, road construction, vehicle problems, and more. Most often, car wrecks in Arizona are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. In the past ten years, driver negligence has become the most common cause of auto accidents throughout the United States. This can most likely be attributed to the growing popularity of smartphones and other handheld devices. People think that it is safe to check their texts, make calls, and check social media while behind the wheel. However, this is never, ever true. It is totally unsafe to take your eyes away from the road for any amount of time while you’re operating a motor vehicle.
In Arizona, approximately 160,000 car crashes are reported per year. On average, over 50,000 of these wrecks are caused by some type of driver distraction. Be it from an electronic device, or another distraction from inside of the vehicle, driver distraction is one of the most problematic types of driver negligence throughout the state of Arizona and across the country. Nationwide, over 400,000 vehicle accidents per year happen due to the actions of distracted drivers. Some other prevalent types of driver negligence include:
- Speeding
- Intoxication
- Extreme fatigue
