Phoenix, AZ (August 24, 2022) – At least two individuals suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred in Central Phoenix. At approximately 5:00 p.m on Wednesday, August 25, responders were sent to the scene of the accident to render aid to the involved parties.
According to reports concerning the accident, it occurred on 32nd Street near McDowell Road. One individual was trapped inside a sedan that was flipped onto its roof. They required extrication by fire crews, Phoenix Fire said.
Police reported that the sedan had been involved in a hit-and-run collision at 40th Street and McDowell Road. The at-fault driver reportedly fled the intersection after running a red light at 32nd Street. The vehicle that caused the crash also struck other vehicles at the scene, including a city bus.
A 30-year-old man was transported from the scene to a local medical center with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Phoenix Fire officials report that a pregnant woman was also transported in stable condition.
Four others were evaluated at the crash scene for minor injuries. They did not require transportation to the hospital.
Police continue to investigate the details of the incident.
