Arizona Auto Collisions
Hundreds of thousands of car wrecks are reported in Arizona every year. On average, more than 125,000 auto accidents happen in the Grand Canyon State annually. Of these accidents, over 55,000 people sustain injuries and more than 1,000 lose their lives. Auto accidents are a leading cause of serious injuries and death in Arizona and throughout the United States. The reasons these accidents happen vary, however, the most common cause of auto collisions in the United States is currently driver negligence.
Unfortunately, many different forms of driver negligence exist, including fatigue, distraction, and intoxication. Thousands of accidents are caused by these three types of driver negligence every year. Driver distraction is the most common type of driver negligence seen in the United States, probably due to the advent of smartphones and other handheld electronic devices.
Although it seems harmless to take a quick peek at your phone while driving, it is very dangerous. Looking down at your phone for five seconds while behind the wheel of a moving vehicle is the same as driving the length of a football field blindfolded. Anyone you encounter during those five seconds is put at serious risk for injuries or even death. When we look at it this way, it isn’t worth it to check a text or respond to an email; it can wait.
If you or someone you love has been seriously hurt in a car wreck caused by driver negligence, you deserve to be compensated for your losses.
